Often enough I will be going to a new place. Everytime a brand new poem with a fresh stamp will be put in my suitcase.

Shakespearean Sonnet: Postcards Home

Intro: This was definitely the most difficult of all my poems to write. But not taking too long to write it. This poem is about writing postcards to my parents while I'm away travelling. With the Eiffel Tower on the front and black ink on the back, it makes its journey from France to my house back home. The rhyming scheme of this poem is ABCB.

Postcards Home

I'm leaving home for a new adventure,
Waiting at the train stop, going by train.
Saying goodbye to my loving parents
Promising to write when boarding the plane.

Arriving at my first destination
I'm taking in all the wonderful sights.
Writing my first postcard to my parents
Missing them as the days turn into nights.

The Eiffel Tower plastered on the front.
Waiting for the ink to dry, since it's damp.
Telling my family about my trip.
Done! Into the envelope with a stamp.

Hoping they will get my special postcard
Since staying far away is really hard!
